With budget issues hindering NASA’s ability to explore deep space, some suggest encouraging a “private space market” to takeover the more “routine” near Earth missions that NASA conducts on a daily basis. Can a private space market takeoff and what would help make it successful?  In fact, what would it look like and what would it do?  What should it do?  What should NASA do once the private sector takes over?  Finally, what about the space agencies of other countries; what role do they have in this debate?
