How to adjust the font size on your computer monitor

The basics of how to adjust the size of fonts on your computer monitor

QUESTION: Did you know that the size of font that comes with your sparkling, brand new PC is not cast in stone?

You didn't?

Let me explain to you then, just how you can change this default font, and some of the advantages to doing so.

If you are visually impaired a slightly larger font makes sense. However, some users may actually find that a larger font is hard on their eyes. Such people, in reality, may actually prefer a smaller font.

No matter what operating system you are using, to run your computer, the basic steps to adjusting the font size are pretty standard and are quick and easy to complete.

Of course, nothing is easy unless someone explains what you need to do so, hopefully, this zone will do just that.

FOR WINDOWS XP:

  • Windows XP has an ACCESSIBILITY WIZARD to make font size changes simple.
  • Left click on the START MENU.
  • Select PROGRAMMES
  • Select ACCESSORIES
  • Select ACCESSIBILITY
  • Select ACCESSIBILITY WIZARD and make your changes.
  • However, you can still follow the easy steps below if you prefer.

REMEMBER

For any changes to be saved you must click on apply or save changes before closing the display properties. This means that, if you are not happy with any of the changes below, you can just cancel and close the properties box without saving your changes. If you do this your font size will simply revert back to its original state.

The APPEARANCE tab allows you to change the font type, font size and colour scheme of your desktop.

Left click on the arrow at the right of the FONT SIZE box in order to change the general size.

Step 4
THE ADVANCED TAB

Clicking your mouse on the advanced tab brings up another selection box.

TEMPORARY CHANGES TO THE FONT SIZE

Hold down the CONTROL key on your keyboard, at the bottom left.

At the same time move the scroll button on your computer mouse.
